Privacy Policy

Cedar Charts is made by Cedar Dynamics LLC. This policy explains what the Cedar Charts app and website collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Nothing, until you sign in. You can browse every company, chart and basket without an account. Anonymous requests to our servers carry no identifier beyond the standard network information any web request has (IP address, app version), which we use only to run and secure the service.
- Account (optional). If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an account identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider. We use the account to keep your lists in sync across devices and to attach a Cedar Pro subscription to you rather than to one phone.
- Your lists. Watchlist and custom lists are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your iCloud key-value store. When you are signed in they are also stored on our servers so they follow you to other devices.
- Purchases. Cedar Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details. RevenueCat, our subscription provider, receives the App Store transaction and your account identifier so we can tell which account is entitled to Pro.
- Usage analytics. We may collect anonymous, aggregate usage events (which screens are opened, which metrics are viewed) to improve the product. These are not sold and are not used for advertising.
Connecting a brokerage
Cedar Pro can show your own holdings against the market. To do that we use Plaid, a service that connects to your brokerage on your behalf.
- Your login stays with Plaid. You sign in to your brokerage inside Plaid's own interface. Your brokerage username and password never pass through the Cedar Charts app or our servers.
- What we fetch. Only your investment accounts and holdings: account name and type, the last digits of the account number, balance, and for each position the security, quantity, price, value and cost basis. We do not fetch transactions, your identity details, or account and routing numbers.
- Where it lives. The key that lets us fetch your holdings is stored only in your iPhone's Keychain, on that device, and is not synced to iCloud. Your holdings are fetched fresh each time you open the Portfolio tab and are held in the app's memory only. Our servers pass the data through and keep nothing: no database record, no cache, no log of your holdings.
- What it is for. Rendering your Portfolio tab. Nothing else. We do not use your holdings for advertising, do not sell or share them, and analytics never receives them.
- Disconnecting. Remove a connection in the app at any time; that revokes our access at Plaid and deletes the key from your device. You can also revoke Cedar Charts' access directly at my.plaid.com.
- Plaid's role. By connecting a brokerage you also grant Plaid the right to process your data as described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not show ads or share data with ad networks.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Service providers
Plaid (brokerage connections), Clerk (authentication), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Apple (payments, iCloud), Railway and Cloudflare (hosting). Each processes data only to provide its service to us. How we protect data is described on our security page.
Retention and deletion
Brokerage holdings are never stored on our servers, so there is nothing to retain; disconnect in the app to revoke access. Account data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and its lists at any time by emailing [email protected] from the address on the account; we delete within 30 days. Lists stored only on your device are removed when you delete the app.
Children
Cedar Charts is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
